Why don't activated carbon water dispensers work?
- Water flows too fast and does not capture most substances, activated carbon needs a contact time with water of at least 10 minutes, but in cartridges, the contact time is less than one minute !!!
- Activated carbon is overgrown with bacteria that are infected with viruses, so water quality deteriorates
- Bacteria as well as cyanobacteria produce their own toxins and release them into the water
